The Platinum Adventures Club is a unique travel and activities group for our customers age 50 or better.  Join our club for great opportunities to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy activities such as:

  • Day trips to interesting and unusual sights in Chicago and neighboring communities, such as trips to the lastest museum exhibits and theater productions - incorporating delicious meals in our adventures whenever possible
  • Extended travel to neighboring states, North America and international destinations.  Our adventures will travel in style with deluxe transportation and superior accommodations
  • Information seminars on timely topics

Joining the club is free and simple.  If you are at least 50 years of age and have $5,000.00 in deposits and an active checking account at our bank, you are eligible!  The only expense you incur is the cost of the events and trips you attend.

Pearls and Ice-Join Joyce Myles Manager of Iridesse, a pearl store that is located in Woodfield Mall.  They are devoted exclusively to celebrating the natural beauty of cultured pearls.  You will learn about the history, art and design of pearl jewelry along with some surprises.  After the presentation that will be held at Barrington Bank & Trust at 201 S. Hough in the South Building., we will go to Barrington Chocolate and Ice Cream Shoppe for a gourmet ice cream treat.  Reservations required by Tuesday, July 8.  Price  $10.00

Solving America’s Income Challenge with Matthew Craig, Regional Vice President of ING.  This seminar is co-sponsored by Platinum Adventures and David Johnson, First Vice President Wayne Hummer Investments. The seminar will be held at Barrington Bank & Trust, 201 S. Hough St. in the South Building. Learn how to shift your focus from traditional risk-based retirement investing to a modern retiree’s need for sustainable, guaranteed lifetime income.  There is no cost for this seminar but reservations are required by Wednesday, July 16.

Design on a Dime with “Penny”
Penny Williams an interior designer will be giving us ideas on how to improve the look and feel of home without spending a lot.  This program will be held in conjunction with the Hoffman Estates Park District’s 50+ Program and will be held at their facility at
1685 W. Higgins Rd. in Hoffman Estates. There is no charge but reservations are required by Thursday, July 31.

Tour Chicago’s Merchandise Mart
Visit the world’s largest commercial building that spans two entire city blocks.  Tours are the only way that the public has access.  View a variety of showrooms that represent the residential, kitchen & bath, decorative accessories and gift floors.  Lunch will be at the charming River North’s La Madia.  A stop at the Crate & Barrel Outlet and/or other nearby shops completes our day in the city. Reservations required by Monday, Sept. 8.  Cost $72.

Identity Theft-Learn how to avoid becoming a victim and what to do if you are a victim-Maureen O’Bryan from the Cook County
State’s Attorney’s office will speak on this most important and relevant topic.  This seminar will be held at our Hoffman Estates Facility at 1375 Palatine Rd. in Hoffman Estates.  There is no charge for this seminar but reservations are required by Tuesday, September 2.

December 3-7-Nashville Country Christmas at the Opryland Hotel-Stay at the lavish Opryland Hotel, see holiday shows and see the sights of Nashville on this delightful holiday tour.

-Alaska Discovery Land and Cruise
Thirteen days including a seven night cruise aboard Holland America’s Volendam or Zaandam. More details will be available soon.

Fall of 2009-European River Cruise -Details will be available in the near future.

May 2010-Alpine Explorer with the Glacier Express and Oberammergau Passion Play. On this most unique ten day trip (only available every 10 years) you will be visiting Stresa, Italy; Zermatt, Switzerland; St. Moritz, Switzeraland; Innsbruck, Austria; Munich, German and Oberammergau where you will witness a performance of the Passion Play.   The cost of the trip for a double is $5,999. Reservations for this trip must be made by August 15, 2008 with a $850 deposit.  A second deposit of $1000 is due one year prior to departure and final payment will be due in January, 2010.
